IRAN 140 A/C was the first in inauguration of Imam Khomeini International Airport .

      The runway of Imam Khomeini International Airport was inaugurated on February 27, 2003 .The guests and participants were transferred to the airport from Mehrabad international airport by two aircrafts.Iran 140 passenger aircraft was the first that officially inaugurated the runway and shortly after that a French made ATR aircraft landed in the airport.

      These two aircraft were planned to be compaired by the members of construction commission , specialists and authorities of civil aviation organization of Iran. 

     After reading some verses of the holy Quran, the project manager of Imam Khomeini International airport gave a reported about the implemented activities. The participants also paid a visit to different sections each of the airport where the specialist gave the necessary and related information.

     At the end the participants returned to Mehrabad airport by the ATR and Iran 140 aircrafts in order to compare the two aircrafts.
Comments of some of the participants are as follows:

Mr. Keshavarz:
                          a) Noise level of IRAN-140 inside cabin is very much less than of the ATR's.
                          b) IRAN-140's navigation and safety systems are more advance than ATR.
Head of construction commission of majles:
                          a) The price of IRAN-140 is about half of ATR.
                          b) General advantages of IRAN-140 are much more than ATR
                          c) Since ATR's safety and navigational systems are not matched with Iran's climate it is not able to fly to many of Iran's                               airports in cold seasons while IRAN-140 does not have this problem

HESA Specialists were awarded the second place of innovation at the khwarazmi international Award (KIA) for applied research.

Project summary:

    Weapon control system of helicopter is a complex integration of optical, mechanical, control and electronics, which increases the ability of tracking the target with high accuracy and stability. This is very important for the helicopter since there are a lot of vibrations and sudden movements.
     In these multi functional displays (MDF) electro mechanical systems and out of dated displays are replaced with new sensors and liquid crystal displays. With this innovation, flight safety in creases while workload of the pilot decreases, in addition it also increases the military system capabilities.

Introduction

    The Khwarizmi International Award is a significant event held annually in commemoration of the great Iranian mathematician and and astronomer Abu jafar Muhammad Ibn Khwarizmi(9th Century, A.D.),whose contribution to mathematics, especially Algebra is universally known .

    The Award is to acknowledge the efforts made by researchers,innovators and inventors, both in iran and abroad and to appreciate their invaluable achievements and contributions to various fields of science and technology .

    It also aims at identifying bright and promising talents in iran and developing countries, and providing support and nurturing such talents for the country's future.

    The Award Ceremony is organized by the Iranian Research Organization for science and Technology(IROST), which is affiliated to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology .It is held in February each year and is attended by the president of Islamic Republic of Iran along with other high ranking officials and distinguished scientists from all around the world.

    The first Khwarizmi Award, held in 1987, included only Iranian participtants .In 1991, the foreign section was added to include participtants from other countries too. Nowadays the Award is presented to researchers in three different categories: Iranian researchers, non-resident Iranian researchers, and foreign researchers.
