Avionics System
Iran-140 Aircraft has
been equipped with a highly updated and cost effective
Avionics system as follows:
1.
Auto Pilot
This system
is compatible with
CAT.I of ICAO at present and operational in all Iranian airports. In the modern
avionics system which will be established on the seventh Iran-140 A/C producted
at HESA, the Auto Pilot System will be digital. Accordingly,The A/C will be
able to even land in Airports in class II in accordance with ICAO classification.
2. Color
Weather Radar
with color CRT indicator.
This radar is usable in range of 400 km and not only can recognize clouds and
bad climatical zones, but also is able to detect available turbulences.
The radar of this A/C is also able to indicate terrain map.
3.
Radio Navigation Equipment
has radio navigation system
including DME,VOR/ILS,RADIO ALT and ADF. Two each of these system have been
installed on the A/C for further salety.
All of the Radio Navigation Equipment are digital.
4. Radio
Communication
Equipment
Iran-140 A/C has two VHF
radios to communicate with ATC tower or other aircraft and one HF radio as option
for long range communication during Flights outside I.R. Iran terrirory.
Regarding VHF
Radios, it should be noted that these radios have frequency limitations (118.00-137.99
MHZ) and 2400 channels. In addition to channel spacing of 25 KHz, these radios
also have channel spacing of 8.33 KHz in accordance with FANS regulations.
5.
Emergency Location Transmitter (ELT)
The
French made ELT-96 system has been installed on Iran-140 A/C.
This system is capable of sending 121.5 MHZ and 243 MHZ signals. In addition,
the ELT is able to send emergent signals with frequency of 406 MHZ to European
satellite, named SARSAT and Russian satellite, named COSPAS. This emergent system
has manual and automatic as well as fixable or Portable modes. In the case of
fixed mode, it has G sensor.
6.
Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS)
This systems, installed
on Iran-140 A/C,
Has the following 6 standard modes:
1-Exceeding of the pressure vertical descent speed;
2-Excceding closure
rate to terrain;
3-loss of the altitude at the take off or going around;
4-The flight close to the ground with not extended landing gear or with ;
flaps in not landing position;
5-Excessive deviation down from the glide slope at landing;
6-Descending to the minimal safe altitude.
Together with illuminating
warnings, the GPWS is able to send
Voice alarms to pilot, considering the priority of case.
Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industries Company (HESA) is interacting with a
western avionics company for the replacement of Enhanced GPWS (EGPWS) instead
of GPWS available in Iran-140 A/C. The EGPWS will be probably mandatory in 2003.
7.
Global Positioning System (GPS)
The
exclusive capability of Iran-140 GPS is simultaneous communications with both
GPS and GLONASS satellites.
This system is linked with Auto Pilot system. By this system the cockpit crews
can make Flight Plan ( several waypoints) manualy or by flash card and steer
the aircraft automaticly to destination.
8.
Airborn Collision Avoidance System (ACAS II)
Based on the agreement
with ANTONOV, the TCAS II made by Honeywell, with type of TCAS-2000 and software
VER .7 has been Selected and is under operation to be installed on Iran-140
A/C.
9. Compatible
with new requirements
Based on the
operational conditions and capabilities of Navigation and Flight systems, Iran-140
A/C meets the flight route limitations indicated in RNP-5 and RVSM.
10.
Iran-140 A/C is equipped with both FDR and CVR.
The FDR is SOLIDE STATE
and capable of recording the data regarding last 25 flight hours.
On this basic, at the end of each flying day, more than 250 flight data parameters
can be extracted from a portable computer. The A/C system and pilot performances
can be daily analyzed and audited
By these FDRs.
In addition, the CVR contains five channels capable of recording voices of last
two flight hours. Iran-140 is the only A/C, FDR of which is reviewed by Iranian
specialist through MONSTR software.
